What are StudioLoop Lessons?
The personal attention of studio lessons in a flexible format built around your week
StudioLoop lessons happen through personal video exchanges with your own tutor — the same expert tutors who teach every day at The Drum Studio. You practise and record whenever it suits you; your tutor watches, responds, and guides your next step. Real one-on-one teaching, shaped around your week.

How it works - The Learning Loop
Expert attention, every step
Practise and record whenever it suits you, including weekends. Everything you send goes into your tutor’s review queue and gets full personal feedback the next weekday or sooner.
Your tutor sends a personalised video and your next focus — a technique, a song, or a concept chosen for where you are right now.
Work through it whenever suits you. There's no deadline. Some things click in a day — others need longer. Both are completely fine.
When you feel ready — not before — record yourself and send it through the StudioLoop message board.
Your tutor watches and responds with advice on what's working, what to adjust, a demo if it helps. Specific, honest, encouraging, personalised.

Meet the tutors
Every StudioLoop student is personally matched with one of our tutors — a real person who gets to know your playing, your goals, and your taste in music. All of our tutors are expert drummers with years of professional playing and teaching experience, working with everyone from first-timers to advanced players. When you sign up, we review what you tell us and pair you with the tutor who best fits what you’re after.

You need something to play on, but it doesn’t have to be a full acoustic kit. Electronic kits are perfect for StudioLoop as well, and if you’re just starting out, a practice pad is enough to begin building real technique and co-ordination — plenty of core skills start there. Your tutor will shape your lessons around whatever setup you have, and can advise you on gear whenever you’re ready to upgrade.
Just your phone. Prop it up somewhere it can see you and your kit, hit record, and upload straight to your StudioLoop chat from your browser. No special camera, microphone, or editing — your tutor needs to see and hear you play as is, not watch a production.
Every weekday, your tutor reviews everything you’ve sent and replies with personal feedback, video, text, screen recordings, whatever is needed — guaranteed by the next weekday at the latest, usually sooner. Uploads sent over the weekend are first in line on Monday.
Absolutely. Your tutor builds your lessons from wherever you’re starting, including from zero. Beginners often find recording at home more comfortable than playing in front of someone from day one — you get expert eyes on your playing without the nerves.
One of the expert tutors who teach every day at The Drum Studio. When you sign up, you’ll tell us about yourself and your goals, and we’ll personally match you with the tutor who best fits what you’re after. You’ll meet them on a video call within a weekday of joining.
Your subscription covers your tutor’s full attention on a structured practice cycle — typically two to three exchanges each week is plenty, which is the rhythm that produces the best progress. You can message questions anytime in between.
No. StudioLoop isn’t a video library you work through — it’s a real tutor teaching you one-on-one. Your tutor watches your playing, decides what you should work on next and how, and gives you personal feedback every step. Just like in the studio, they’ll sometimes use a great demonstration more than once — but what you learn, when you progress, and the feedback you get is always yours alone.
