FAQs
Our intro lessons are designed for you to get a good feel of what learning the drums is all about and for you to see if The Drum Studio is right for you.
We will get you on the kit and show you the basics to get you playing right away.
If you are an absolute beginner we will start right at the beginning.
And if you already have some experience we will establish where you are at and what the best areas are for us to start working on with you.
The intro lessons are a chance for us to get to know you, where you are at and what your goals might be.
But also a chance for you to get to know us, what the drum studio is all about, and to ask any questions you might have to make sure we’re the right fit for you.
Absolutely! There is no experience needed to start learning the drums with us.
While it might look challenging to start with, all it takes is the right approach, a passionate teacher, tailored lessons, and a bit of enthusiasm. Luckily we do precisely this, so you can get playing in no time.
As a beginner, we will teach you everything you need to know, from how to hold your sticks to reading drum music.
Learning the drums is easier than it looks!
But, as with any new skill, getting started is often the most challenging part. Once you’ve jumped that hurdle, all it takes is a bit of practice and the right support, and before you know it, you’ll be playing with ease.
With endless resources available online, many people attempt to teach themselves a new skill or instrument. However, wading through vast amounts of information can be extremely difficult. After countless how-to videos, aspiring drummers can still feel like they have missed essential steps in their learning.
In addition, when learning a new instrument, some aspects might be a breeze, while others might need further explaining. That’s when in-person lessons with an experienced tutor come in most handy. They’ve spent years perfecting how to play and learn the drums, and wading through information, so you don’t have to.
In-person lessons are also dynamic. Students can ask questions, and tutors adapt the lessons to you as they go. Simply put, having someone to support you one-on-one will always be the fastest and most effective way to learn or improve any skill – not just the drums.
